Desolation Row

Published by Roberto Macedo Alves under Comics, Music

Small strange musical interlude
with Gunga Diner Dirigibles
and a Riot Squad restless
with nowhere to go!

Yes, I liked the Watchmen movie adaptation.

Ivan Brodsky : Remaking / Remodelling

Published by Roberto Macedo Alves under Drawings

Warren Ellis is an incredible source of inspiration. He has not only weird, fascinating ideas, but also managed to entice and encourage the creative juices. One of such encouraging activities are his “remake/remodel” threads at whitechapel.

I’ve always been fascinated by the idea, but never had the guts to try. Until he suggested the remaking of Ivan Brodsky. According to the information he posted on that thread:

Brodsky, Ivan. Ivan Brodsky was created by “Victor Rousseau,” the pseudonym of Victor Rousseau Emmanuel (Jim Anthony, Clifford, Ronald Gowan, Professor MacBeard, Dr. Martinus, Pennell, Shawm, Thorne), and appeared in eleven stories in Weird Tales in 1926 and 1927, beginning with “The Case of the Jailer’s Daughter” (Weird Tales, Sept. 1926).

Ivan Brodsky is a Big-Headed Dwarf Genius Occult Detective.

So, I decided to do a shy first attempt with a tiny sketch following those suggestions. Those are not good sketches, they are not even finished sketches – but they were fun to do, and it was an interesting first approach, just to lose the fear of participating in such activities. Here they are:

I intend to post more drawings and sketches in the near future. Hopefully, future ones will be less rushed and with more artistic quality! And some more weird ideas, and strange things. Just trying to add more original content to the Internet. Citius! Altius! Fortius!

Time Management

Published by Roberto Macedo Alves under Comics, Rants

I’ve been away from this blog for far too long, due to a mix of overworking, virus attacks (the biological type), lack of energy and long formation courses. Suddenly, I realized I was not applying my favourite technique for Time Management:

Ozymandias Time Management
